Australians and New Zealanders Paying UK Healthcare Surcharge
From 6 April 2016, Australians and New Zealanders planning to spend more than 6 months in the UK, or planning to extend their visa from within the UK, will be required to pay a £200 per annum surcharge as part of the visa application process (£150 per annum for Tier 5 YMS Visas). So this will not affect candidates already here on their visas, however it will have an impact on people planning to move after April this year.
“The surcharge fee is designed to help ensure the National Health Service (NHS) remains sustainable and receives a fair contribution to the cost of healthcare from temporary migrants”.
